Overview

Since 2019, 7 murals have been installed in multiple communities in the county by local, national, and international artists. In fall 2024, PCMP aims to add six murals throughout the county. The majority of PCMP efforts focus on mural installation, but the project also includes artist-led workshops, community gatherings, and local student visits with artists. We’ve had conversations with local businesses to provide wall preparation, accommodations, and media. A call for artist applications will take place in March, with applications due in April 24. In May 24, local residents will serve on the artist selection committee and designs will be finalized in June 24. Final wall preparation, artist logistics, and sharing of designs to the community will take place in July-August 24. Mural installations and a culminating celebration will take place in September 24. The READI funds will be used for artists fees and site preparation. This mural will be at Criss Construction in Greencastle. Matching fund contributors include PCMP, Putnam County Parks and Pathways, Greencastle Civic League, Friends of the Parks of Putnam County, and Indy Arts Council.
