180 Makeover - Jamestown (29 W Main)

Overview

The building at 29 West Main Street in downtown Jamestown was rebuilt in 1904 and carried ownership and businesses in Jamestown for over 100 years. Cochrans Catering and Cakes has been in this facility since 1999 and have made investments in the maintenance of the building’s downtown appearance. These READI funds will help offset the costs of a new roof on the building. The funds will also be utilized to install a central air system and water heater in the front section of the venue to help maintain the building’s appearance, comfort, humidity and moisture control. Exterior work on the building include painting and resealing the outside brick and replacing the current awning and limestone under the display windows. The approximate timeline for this project is April to September 2024. Through this process and grant the building will be better maintained and represent Jamestown’s historic downtown for many years to come. Matching funds will be provided by Jamestown RDC and Cochran's Catering and Cakes.
