The Madison-Milton Bridge Gateway and Illumination project is a private-public partnership that enhances Madison’s riverfront. The READI funds will be used for construction of the following improvements: The City of Madison will be transforming its newly acquired properties at the foot of the bridge into a small park and a rest stop. The City will increase the curb appeal by adding landscaping, properly maintained asphalt parking lot, and a park-like setting across the new welcome sign. This space will also provide parking for those wishing to take a photo with the new welcome sign or to walk across the Madison-Milton Bridge. The City of Madison, Indiana has committed to supporting this project. The approximate timeline for this project is May 2022 through December 2027.
