NEO is building out 9,608 square feet of space at the NEO Center to house Creekside Early Learning Center. This Paths to Quality center will serve up to 130 children: 16 infants, 20 one-year olds, 20 two-year-olds, 20 three-year-olds, 24 four-year-olds, and 30 preschool / school age children. $200,000 of READI 1.0 funds will cover a portion of the renovation/ construction costs of $1,575,076. 77% of the rooms will serve children three and under which reflects the demand for quality childcare in this area and is in support of the mission of First Things First. NEO has hired Chester Construction for this work; they invoices NEO monthly for work to date with a detailed invoice. NEO will use $1,375,076 in grant funds we have secured from other sources as our match and for the balance as detailed in the READI 1.0 budget summary and in the attached MOU. The start date of the construction of Creekside Early Learning was April 1, 2024. The projected end date for the construction work is August 1, 2024.
