180 Makeover - Boone County Cake Company
Overview
Boone County Cake Co. is located in a 103 year old building in historic downtown Lebanon that will greatly benefit from a façade makeover. We have already invested a great deal of time and money (over $95k) into renovating the building to make the space welcoming and functional while preserving its historical integrity. Currently, there is no overhang/roof structure above the front entrance. The former overhang was deemed hazardous during the building inspection and had to be removed. We would like to add an overhang that is both aesthetically appealing and functional. Essential foundation repair is also needed on our building. This will involve placing foundation jacks in the basement to fortify sections of the floor that require reinforcement. We also plan to construct a concrete patio that will be stamped with a design that falls in line with the age and architecture of the surrounding area. Having an outdoor seating area would extend our reach and make us an attractive stop for pedestrians (and others) utilizing the Big 4 trail and add to the curb appeal of Main Street. The final portion of our makeover project is the installation of exterior lighting so that the patio and our business sign will be illuminated at night. READI funds will specifically be used for the covered patio supporting trail users. The Lebanon RDA and Boone County Cake Co. are providing matching funds. Approximate timeline is 3/1/24-12/31/24.
