The Quantum Corridor will create the first Coherent communication network in the State of Indiana. The network is designed to be quantum ready. Once completed, the network will be among the fastest and most secure networks in the world. The construction time is estimated to take 9 months from notification of funding approval. The project will be managed, implemented and operated by Quantum Corridor, LLC. READI grant funds will provide 80% of the project's cost. Quantum Corridor LLC will provide the balance of the project funding. Those companies will infuse the Region with jobs and transform NW Indiana. Higher Education: The new network route will serve as the backbone of connectivity for local universities, underserved communities tying in higher education to the largest internet exchange 350 Cermak. Government: This network will support Crane’s Naval Surface Warfare Base and other bases throughout the Midwest with wide band laser, Coherent transmissions that will bring next generation speeds (up to 40 TBs) Department of Defense: This will be offered in a fashion that supports the DOD and SIPRNet requirements with dedicated secure connections that can be commissioned and decommissioned on demand. Business: Indiana will benefit from one of the fastest dark fiber backbones in the country which ultimately will connect large technology companies and hyper-scalers from Chicago to Indianapolis to Columbus.
