Columbus Riverfront Project
Overview
The Columbus Riverfront Project will transform the downtown riverfront into a vibrant, safe, and accessible public space. Project goals include removing a hazardous low-head dam, stabilizing riverbanks, restoring native vegetation, and enhancing ecological integrity. Key amenities feature multi-use trails connecting existing city paths, accessible river overlooks, expanded greenspaces, gathering areas, emergency river access, and improved lighting. Funded by $5.6M in READI funds, $11.58M in TIF, $1.72M from Next Level Trails, and $105K from private sources, this initiative supports community livability, regional connectivity, and talent attraction.
