64 Innovation Corridor Project – Novaparke Innovation and Technology Campus

Overview

The entrepreneurial and laboratory projects will help to develop Novaparke’s capabilities as an engine for innovation. The construction projects will provide additional entrepreneurial and laboratory space at Novaparke’s Whistle Stop campus. The facilities will provide space for the development of start-up companies in life science, advanced manufacturing, bio-technology, space and defense sectors. Entrepreneurs will have access to resources through a collaboration agreement with Indiana University Southeast. Additional lab space will be utilized with the assistance of the university to foster innovation and research. The renovation of two existing historic barn structures on the farmstead lot will create 10,000 square feet of space for entrepreneurial services including office, conference, classroom, and maker space. The construction of 10,000 square feet of laboratory space will house clean room facilities, wet/dry laboratories, and office space for start-up companies. The Floyd County Redevelopment Commission is the owner of Novaparke and the Redevelopment Commission will manage the park operations as it relates to the entrepreneurial center. The READI funds will be used for construction of: Innovation Parkway and SR 64, Exploration Way and Parking lot for Building 4, Streetscape 64 Corridor Gateway, and the laboratory and entrepreneurial space (Building 5). The approximate timeline is March 2021 through December 2023
